A throwback video recently posted online shows Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and the members of One Direction having a blast at karaoke during a shared celebration years ago.

TikToker @morganbeckers, who goes by Morgan, shared the throwback video on the social media platform last week. As of Thursday, March 21, more than 2,800 comments had been posted on the video, many of which were left in celebration of the resurfaced moment shared by some of the biggest names in pop music.

Video of the karaoke celebration first came to light in December 2012 after the members of One Direction played their first concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. After the show, the bandmates celebrated with a party at a New York hotel, which the “Shake It Off” singer attended. Sheeran, who was invited onstage that night to sing a song with One Direction, also attended the afterparty, according to The Mirror.

Once the group was all together, the powerhouse pop stars gathered to perform “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” the popular 1976 song by Elton John and Kiki Dee. Video captured of the group’s performance that night showed the “Shape of You” singer and Harry Styles duetting as they swapped vocals. Meanwhile, Styles’ bandmates and Swift came in and out of frame as they danced to the Sheeran-Styles duet.

TikTokers were thrilled that Morgan had unearthed the throwback footage, with one person demanding to know how they gained access. Morgan responded to the query in the video’s comment section, writing, “a guy i know was there and took this video.”

“This is the best celebrity content ever,” one TikTok user wrote, as another wondered, “how do i tattoo this to my eyelids?”

Some fans were touched by how One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson could be seen in the video making Swift laugh, while others were amused that “even singers sound wacky at karaoke.” A couple of TikTokers said they hadn’t realized that all of One Direction was present when the famous karaoke night, which some media outlets reported on at the time, occurred.

All in all, TikTokers seemed to agree that the video was a valuable example of 2012 pop culture.

“This belongs in a history museum,” one fan wrote.
