There’s something unmistakably cathartic about smashing glass or ceramic objects, as evidenced by the proliferation of so-called rage rooms that have popped up across the country in recent years. But if you take breaking glass and combine it with a UFC-style showdown? Now that’s the ultimate recipe for entertainment.

Such was the brainchild of TikTok users Jack And Josh, who have over 235,000 followers on the platform. The pair posted their first glass swinging tournament-or UFG, as they’ve since named them-back in October, and it seems as though the sport is already picking up steam.

In essence, the matches work by taking breakable objects, stringing them up from a ceiling, giving them a big swing, and then letting gravity do the rest as the breakables fight it out to the death. To make the fights fair as possible, they choose “fighters” of approximately the same shape or size, such as having a wine glass face off against a champagne flute or a ceramic bunny go up against a ceramic rabbit. Because after all, you wouldn’t have a lightweight or welterweight go up against a heavyweight.

To add to the thrill and make the experience feel even more personal, the breakables are given entertaining names. Some examples include a purple vase named “Grimace” or a mug named “Cal Pacino,” as seen in one of the earlier videos, below, which has been viewed over 5 million times.

Since the videos have gained steam, they’ve branched out into alcohol bottles, such as full beers-which are particularly mesmerizing to watch smash-or, in the most recent video posted to the account, empty liquor bottles. Say what you will, but it’s much more fun to watch Tito’s tussle with Jameson in a cage match rather than in your digestive system after a night of drinking.

Men’s Journal reached out to Jack and Josh who said that they create their videos in their spare time when they’re not playing in their band, Jack Harris. When asked how they came up with the inspiration for their videos, they said that they love to entertain people at any chance they get while also finding enjoyment in making up fun games.

“So just for fun we combined those passions and started a TikTok page together,” the pair told us. “To our surprise, tons of people find our content incredibly entertaining.”
