Taylor Sheridan’s latest production, “Land Man,” is looking for TCU students to cast for an on-campus scene being filmed next month.

Local agency Legacy Casting announced this week that “Land Man” is filming a track and field scene on the TCU campus Feb. 15. Legacy is looking to cast both TCU alumni and current students as background actors when the show stops by Fort Worth.

Interested applicants can create a profile on MyCastingFile and apply for the casting that reads “REAL TCU Students/Alumni”.

Along with working in front of the camera, TCU students also have the opportunity to work behind the scenes on “Land Man.”

Show producers are opening the set to allow students to shadow crew members as production rolls on campus. TCU Film, Television and Digital Media Department students are encouraged to apply for the opportunity via the email they received this week from school faculty.

“Land Man” is co-created and executive produced by Sheridan and Christian Wallace. The show, which stars Billy Bob Thornton, is based on Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown” that Wallace wrote and hosted.

Per Variety, the show’s synopsis reads, “Land Man is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

This is the third time “Land Man” has opened up casting for filming around North Texas.

In late November, the Legacy first announced that casting was underway for Sheridan’s new show and that real-life oilfield workers should apply to be background actors. A few weeks into January, another casting call for roughnecks went out.

“Land Man” was first announced in February 2021 and will air on Paramount+. Billy Bob Thornton joined the cast in February 2022, along with Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland and Ali Larter who were cast in May 2023.

The oilfield show is the latest from Sheridan, who remains one of the busiest guys in Hollywood. Sheridan’s latest show “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” premiered in November, which filmed scenes in and around North Texas.
