A spectacular perspective of flying through fireworks was captured in Idaho on New Year’s Day.

The incredible view was shown in a drone video taken by 31-year-old Kyle Moeller, a full-time licensed drone pilot and videographer based in Boise. The video went viral after it was shared three days ago on his TikTok account, @tourguidenancy.

Moeller told Newsweek: “I have seen others fly through fireworks before and thought it would be a great way to show off Boise.”

The video shows the soaring aerial views captured by the drone as it gets an up-close look at a fireworks display over the city.

As tempting as it might be to grab your own drone to recreate the same experience at your next fireworks celebration, it’s important to know that whether you “fly for fun and personal enjoyment or as an educational institution,” you must follow the regulations for flying drones outlined by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, such as learning the rules for recreational flyers and registering all drones that weigh more than 0.55 pounds.

The FAA explains: “Many people assume that a recreational flight simply means not flying for a business or being compensated. But that’s not always the case. Compensation, or the lack of it, is not what determines if a flight was recreational or not. Before you fly your drone, you need to know which regulations apply to your flight.”

Non-recreational drone flying can also include “taking photos to help sell a property or service, roof inspections, or taking pictures of a high school football game for the school’s website. Goodwill can also be considered non-recreational. This would include things like volunteering to use your drone to survey coastlines on behalf of a non-profit organization,” the FAA said.

‘A Whole New Perspective’

A message overlaid on the viral clip reads: “Drone flying through fireworks for new year’s coming at ya!”

Moeller told Newsweek: “That is me sitting on the chair [at the start of the video], and this was the New Year’s show here in Boise.”

The footage begins with Moeller outside wearing what appears to be drone-viewing goggles while a fireworks display erupts in the background. The video later shows different shots of crowds and landmarks across the city as the camera soars through fireworks going off in various directions.

TikTok users were blown away by the fireworks footage.

One TikToker commented: “This was 1000 percent better than the coverage on TV. This is so awesome!”

User @Xiari96 said: “Dude introduced us to a whole new perspective of fireworks that we’ve never seen before. Thank you.”

And @974Jay wrote: “Bro was on another dimension.”

Another TikToker named Lea commented: “that display was amazing to start with but wow how freaking awesome is that.”

User @uptownlboogie wrote: “Amazing! It made me emotional for some reason.”
