Traffic temporarily halted on U.S. Highway 75 after man jumps from overpass, police say

Police said a man was injured Tuesday morning after jumping from an overpass onto U.S. Highway 75.

North and southbound traffic was temporarily shut down on the highway at Haskell Avenue, causing a backup for miles.

Around 8 a.m., Dallas police on Twitter urged residents to avoid the area while officers dealt with “a distressed individual.”

Several videos posted on social media showed police officers talking to a man in a black shirt before he fell onto the highway.

Dallas police said the man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
