Drive through more than 4 million holiday lights

Grand Prairie
Not to be confused with the road trippable Marfa lights that may or may not appear when you want them to, the Prairie Lights drive-thru experience features more than 4 million lights along a two-mile path to experience from the warmth and comfort of your car. Concessions will also be available for purchase at the half-way point should you want to make it a dinner-and-show kind of night.

Drive through the zoo and take in the holiday lights

This year’s Dallas Zoo Lights extravaganza has been reimagined as a drive-thru experience with more than one million lights, some glow-in-the-dark monkeys and other creatures, plus a real-life penguin threesome hanging out in an ice palace.
Cost: $65 per car ($50 for zoo members)
 

Be part of the outdoor menorah lighting at Klyde Warren Park

December 10 – 18
Klyde Warren Park
Bring your own blanket or lawn chair to join DJ Haze for some Chanukah beats, pre-packaged sweets and treats, and an interactive art installation. From 6 – 6:15 pm each night, the menorah will be lighted as part of the holiday celebration.

Everybody’s favorite, slightly judgmental church lady takes to the virtual stage to bring a holiday version of her 701 Club, complete with a cavalcade of special guests. The ever-witty creation of Paul J. Williams, Sister Helen Holy will have you laughing ‘til you wet your stockings. Luckily, you’ll be in the comfort of your own home.

Enjoy some lakeside lights in Little Elm

Magic of Lights at the Lakefront delivers a drive-thru twinkle-light extravaganza, with a free walk-through night on December 5. Travel a little over a mile and pay per vehicle for one low price, with a significant discount for advance tickets.

Get tipsy with a drag queen Mrs. Claus at the Tipsy Elf pop-up bar

Bishop Arts District
Get in the holiday spirit(s) at this insanely fun holiday pop-up bar inside Good Companions. Thematic cocktails, including the Rebel without a Claus, add to the enjoyment of the seriously decked-out halls complete with elves on shelves and super-sexy, ultra-“frageelay” leg lamps. Plus, a major highlight will be drag queen Gloria Devine as a jello shot-selling Mrs. Claus.

Swing to the sounds of Ella Fitzgerald

Bring your dog to see the lights at Vitruvian Park

Meander through multiple light displays or perch yourself in a lawn chair and simply absorb the experience at this leashed-dog-friendly outdoor event. Bring your own snacks, or visit one of several food and beverage vendors on-site to make it a perfect date night.

Indulge in decadent desserts at an adults-only BYOB holiday lights tour

December 4-26
Central Dallas/Richardson
Reserve your tickets then get the pickup location for the Christmas Lights, Chocolate and Sips Tour from Dallas by Chocolate. This 21+ version of the experience allows motorcoach riders to bring their own boozy drinks to enjoy between stops around the city to marvel at holiday decorations while listening to festive music and snacking on sweet treats from top local businesses.
