Official American Airlines Center Parking | ParkWhiz

Victory Park is a vibrant, up-and-coming neighborhood of Dallas, Texas, which has as its centerpiece American Airlines Center, home to the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA and the Dallas Stars of the NHL. With two successful sports franchises and space for concerts and several other events, it can be difficult to book American Airlines Center parking unless you book ahead of time with ParkWhiz. Both the Mavericks and Stars were originally based in Dallas’s Reunion Arena before they were relocated in 2001 to the newly-built American Airlines Center. The Mavericks were founded in 1980 by businessman Don Carter, who owned it until he sold the team to Ross Perot, Jr. in 1996. Perot used the opportunity for a new stadium to design Victory Park as a master planned community, with the new venue as the primary anchor. The team was then sold to entrepreneur Mark Cuban in 2000, who to date is still the team owner. The Mavs have won four division titles, two conference titles and one Stanley Cup championship. The Dallas Stars were founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars before the team relocated to Dallas in 1993, renamed as the Dallas Stars. The team shared Reunion Arena with the Mavericks before the move to AAC in 2001. The Stars’ ownership in Dallas began with Norman Green, who sold it to Tom Hicks in 1995. He in turn sold the team to current owner Tom Gaglardi in 2011. Over the years, the Stars have won eight division championships, two President’s Trophies, three conference championships and one Stanley Cup. Both teams have large fanbases, with fans hunting for the best Stars or Mavericks parking spots. With these two fan favorites under one roof, it can be challenging to find convenient American Airlines Center parking if you don’t book in advance with ParkWhiz.
