On July 27-30, the 13-and-under Arkansas Wings Elite Basketball team won the Prime Time Nationals AAU Basketball Tournament in Dallas. Colby Garland (right) of Magnolia, son of Chris and Kizzy Garland, was member of the Arkansas Wings. The Prime Time Sports National Basketball Championship is the largest national basketball tournament in the country. Approximately 1,000 teams from around the country participated. The Wings competed in 10 games during the four-day tournament, winning all 10 games including the finals on Sunday, July 30 and were crowned the 2017 National Prime Time Champions. The AAU Team Arkansas Wings elite basketball team was established in 1980 and based out of Conway At least 400 scholarships have been awarded and many have went on to play in NBA including first round draft pick Malik Monk.
